The teacher of Komyshanska School No. 26 and English teacher at the State Vocational Institution «Kherson Higher Vocational School of Service and Design», Olha Barvynska, won first place in the first season of the international pedagogical mastery competition Education Award Europe. According to the jury’s evaluation, she received 97 points out of a possible 100.
This was reported on the Facebook page of the Kherson City Council’s Department of Education.
At the competition, Olha Barvynska presented a STEM English lesson “Baking Beyond the Recipe: The Science & Art of Culinary Creation”, built using the STEMedia+ technology. The lesson combines English language learning with elements of the natural sciences, engineering, mathematics, media literacy, and digital technologies.
During the lesson, artificial intelligence tools, augmented reality, 3D modeling, and virtual laboratories are used, allowing students to explore scientific processes related to culinary arts and the English language.
The Education Award Europe competition is organized by the international educational platform AdverMAN Education in cooperation with the Constellation World Talent Network and the national network “Alley of Stars of Ukraine”. Teachers from various countries across Europe, the USA, and Canada participate in it.
