The Kherson community approved a civil protection program for the population and territories against emergencies. It will take effect in 2026 and last until the end of 2028.
The corresponding order was signed by the head of the Kherson Military-Civilian Administration, Yaroslav Shanko.
In total, more than UAH 495 million from the local budget and other sources are planned to be allocated for the safety of the community’s residents.
The largest portion of the funds, namely more than UAH 403 million, will be directed to repairing and upgrading shelters and basic protective structures.
In addition, the city will continue to install prefabricated reinforced concrete structures to protect people on the streets, for which about UAH 43 million has been allocated. The purchase of gabions is also planned.
Besides protective structures, the funds will be spent on supporting rescuers, purchasing gas masks for critical service workers, and replenishing reserves in case of emergencies.
