On the eve of Christmas, another group of children and adolescents was returned from the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region. These are children aged 9 to 16 who went through threats, searches, and interrogations.
This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.
Among the rescued is a nine-year-old girl. Her family for a long time could not bring themselves to leave because the girl’s father is a former serviceman. Any attempt to seek help could have resulted in serious consequences, but everything worked out.
A sixteen-year-old girl lived in a village that was constantly under fire. When the girl photographed a destroyed house nearby, the occupiers came to her and called FSB officers. She was forbidden from documenting the destruction and was threatened with “responsibility”.
Now all the rescued children are in the “Hope and Recovery” centers, where they receive psychological support, help with documents, and housing.
Their return was made possible within the framework of the President of Ukraine’s initiative Bring Kids Back UA and with the assistance of the Save Ukraine team.
Recall, the Kherson Regional Military Administration designated one-time financial assistance to 153 children who were registered or declared in the Kherson region and returned to Ukraine from the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, or from the temporarily occupied territory of the region after February 24, 2022.
