The polling stations of the Kherson city community are not 100% covered by shelters within a 500-meter radius.
This is stated in a security audit by the Civic Network OPORA, which was conducted in October–November of this year.
The audit covered 11 communities located in combat zones, in deoccupied and frontline territories.
According to its results, the Kherson community showed the worst indicators in the “Physical Security” category. In particular, during the period of the study, 3 861 shelling incidents were recorded in the community.
Due to existing security restrictions, auditors were unable to obtain complete information about the condition of the polling stations.
Note that despite a number of discussions citing legislation that presidential elections cannot be held in Ukraine during the war, the Verkhovna Rada, on December 22, officially announced the formation in parliament of a working group “for the rapid consideration of the issue of holding possible presidential elections of Ukraine during martial law”.
