Two transit centers for evacuated residents have begun operating in the Kherson community.
This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.
The centers receive people who were forced to leave due to Russian shelling. They are provided with assistance from the first hours after evacuation.
A social worker, psychologist, medical worker and lawyer work with the evacuees. Each situation is considered individually, taking into account people’s needs.
The public organizations «10 April», «United by Love for Children», «Mangust», Intersos and Acted, as well as medical workers from Kherson, are involved in the centers’ work.
You can stay in the transit centers for up to three days. People are provided with essential items, advised on obtaining financial assistance, after which further evacuation to safe communities in the region or to other regions of Ukraine is organized.
The Kherson regional organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society helped equip the centers.
Recall that in August this year Shanko published data that from December 2022 to August 2025 more than 41 thousand people were evacuated from the territory of the Kherson community. Of them – more than 5 thousand children and 500 people with limited mobility.
