The Novovorontsovka settlement military administration commented on the installation of a stationary public alert system for almost UAH 9 million.
The post was published on the SMA’s Facebook page.
They noted that this is not money from the local budget — funding is provided by partner communities under the project “Shoulder-to-Shoulder. Cohesive Communities” and is earmarked.
“The security situation in the community has significantly worsened in recent weeks: drone attacks have become more frequent, there are fatalities, and infrastructure and equipment have been damaged. Russian forces are located 4–10 kilometers from the community’s settlements. The installation of the alert system is not a voluntary initiative, but a civil protection task defined by the Kherson Regional Military Administration. Such systems are currently being implemented in the region’s communities,” they wrote.
Before the decision was made, according to the SMA, coordination with the Defense Forces took place. The primary priority was rapid and reliable notification of people about threats.
The SMA also noted that messages via messaging apps and social media are not always effective, because during shelling mobile service, the internet, and power supply can go out. Some residents are elderly, children, or those who do not have access to networks.
The stationary alert system does not depend on mobile service or the internet and covers all settlements of the community, including Novovorontsovka, Osokorivka, Khreshchenivka, Shevchenkivka, and Petrivka.
Recall, the only participant in the bidding was an entrepreneur from Kryvyi Rih, Serhii Karas, who also became the winner. The tender was the largest in his six-year entrepreneurial career, as previously he mostly received small contracts.
