A court in the Russian Federation has begun hearing the case of former police officer from the Kherson region Yevhen Velykoselskyi, whom the occupiers suspect of directing the strike on Kherson that occurred in September 2022.
This is reported by Kremlin-controlled media.
According to the Russian investigation, the man allegedly in 2022 transmitted to Ukrainian special services the coordinates of the locations of Russian security personnel.
The Russian Federation claims that based on this data the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out missile strikes on civilian targets in Kherson, resulting in two people killed and 28 others wounded.
This concerns the building where Ukrainian law enforcement officers lived before the occupation of Kherson, and in 2022 it was partially inhabited by occupation security service personnel. It was in this building that the current head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration used to live, Oleksandr Prokudin.
Note that Ukrainian law enforcement announced suspicion of Yevhen Velykoselskyi as early as July 2022. He was accused of collaborationism. According to the SBU, the Russians appointed him the so‑called head of the narcotics department of the occupation police.
In 2024 Velykoselskyi was added to the NSDC sanctions list.
In July 2025, on the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region, Velykoselskyi was detained by Russian security services. Since then he has been in custody.
