After the large-scale fire that occurred in September this year on the territory of the temporarily occupied Chornomorsk Biosphere Reserve, the steppe ecosystem is already actively recovering.
This was reported on the social media of the Chornomorsk Biosphere Reserve of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
It is noted that the fire lasted from 19 to 21 September. The fire affected 1,683 hectares of steppe at the Yahorlytskyi Kut site.
Already two months after the fire, specialists are noting visible changes: vegetation is reclaiming space, forming a new plant cover.
