Fantasies about “economic revival”, tales of exotic industries, fabricated investors and yet another set of scare stories about epidemics and “crimes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine” — the occupiers lied about all this last week. The Russian occupation “administration” and its controlled media systematically produce absurd promises and outright fakes, trying to create the illusion of “normal life” in the captured territories of the Kherson region while simultaneously discrediting Ukraine. We break down the latest fabrications of the occupiers — from oyster farms and “French” perfumes to non-existent epidemics and “mass graves”.

Oyster farms and perfume factories on the left bank

Russian occupiers continue to “feed” the population of the left bank of the Kherson region a “ration” of loud but detached-from-reality promises. After the de facto destruction of the region’s agricultural potential, the invaders suddenly started talking about the development of so-called “alternative directions” of the economy. Among them are plans to create oyster farms near Kalanchak. And the fantasy does not stop there, because some “descendant of the Russian aristocracy” living in France supposedly intends to set up… perfume production in Kherson region.

“Near Kalanchak we plan to build industrial parks. That means new productions and, most importantly, new jobs will appear in the region. Traditional animal husbandry will also be restored: pig farms, dairy complexes and livestock breeding farms. But alongside this ‘classic’ something special will appear. It is planned to create fish hatcheries near the villages of Stavky, Preobrazhenka and Pryvillya, and an oyster farm south of Horliv,” the Russians report.

The idea of oysters looks completely absurd. It is unlikely that a significant number of consumers of an expensive seafood delicacy will be found in the occupied territory. The export option also raises questions: such farms already operate in Crimea and the Krasnodar Krai. So it remains unclear who and why would buy “Kherson” oysters.

The story about perfume production looks even more absurd. Collaborators claim plans to launch a large-scale project to produce cosmetic and perfume products on the left bank. The initiator is allegedly a businessman — a “descendant of Russian aristocrats” who lives in France and has experience in this field. The total investment volume, according to the occupation side, could reach about 300 million rubles.

It remains to be asked whether this “aristocratic descendant” knows that France does not recognize the occupied left bank of the Kherson region as part of Russia, and any entrepreneurial activity in this territory may be considered illegal by that country. Especially given that the so-called “governor” of Kherson region, Volodymyr Saldo, has repeatedly publicly insulted the French and openly threatened them with physical violence. Won’t such “nuances” affect the willingness to invest in the region?

It seems the occupiers themselves realized the absurdity of their story about a “French investor” and adjusted it a few days later. Now on the official site of the occupation administration the entrepreneur is no longer French, but a Muscovite. What does this mean? Only that there is no perfumer in reality.

Anthrax in the Kherson region

Enemy propaganda periodically reports “horrible” and “mass” cases of deadly diseases that allegedly spread across the liberated territory of Kherson region. Over the past few months, locals have supposedly experienced epidemics of AIDS, rabies and the so-called “trench fever”. Recently, anthrax has been added to these diseases. True, the “anthrax” outbreak has not yet started, but it will happen soon, the Russians promise.

“Anthrax in the Kherson region: the Kyiv regime for years did not vaccinate livestock and consciously played with fire. One of the main reasons why the region still sits on a powder keg of anthrax is the complete destruction of the animal vaccination system by the Ukrainian authorities,” the Russians report.

According to Kremlin propaganda, soon “thousands of tons” of anthrax spores may get into the air of the right bank of the Kherson region, which will lead to the infection of animals and later people.

Similarly absurd “inputs” about deadly diseases, the outbreaks of which are allegedly recorded on the right bank of the Kherson region, appear in Russian media at a steady frequency. For example, in October 2025 an epidemic of rabies with hundreds of victims was allegedly recorded here. A little later AIDS and the rare trench or “Volyn” fever came to the liberated territories of the region.

Last year, according to the Russians, residents of Kherson allegedly “contracted” bubonic plague, tuberculosis, dysentery and cholera. Enemy propaganda has failed to provide evidence for any of these “epidemics”.

It is interesting whether there are any dangerous diseases left in the medical handbook the Russians seem to use when writing their fakes that Kherson residents have not yet been infected with? And most importantly, why does the danger threaten only the right bank? Surely “thousands of tons” of anthrax spores are not incapable of flying across the Dnipro and infecting the population of the occupied territories of the Kherson region? However, these questions will remain unanswered, because it is pointless to look for any logic in Russian lies…

Mass graves for the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Not a week goes by without Russian propaganda trying to discredit Ukrainian defenders. This time, citing of course “verified information”, the occupiers claimed that fallen Ukrainian soldiers on the Kherson front are allegedly being buried in mass graves to save on payments to their families.

“On TG channels and on Facebook pages photos of the ‘evacuation’ of fallen Ukrainian servicemen on the Kherson front have surfaced. If this can even be called evacuation. Bodies are taken away not one by one and without paperwork — they are piled up in batches, and then, according to reports, dumped into common pits in the rear areas,” the Russians report.

The message refers to the Velyka Oleksandrivka community, where the “mass graves” supposedly appeared. Of course, we could not fail to check the “authentic photos” presented as “evidence”. Quite predictably, they turned out to be fake. That is, the photos may be real, but they have nothing to do with the Kherson region.

The first of them began to spread on the Net a few days ago. Only Russian accounts indicate that it concerns the Pokrovsk direction.

The second photo actually appeared in the public domain back in 2023. According to the original source, it again shows the east of Ukraine.

Whether the photos are real or not does not play a big role, because the fake clearly states that they were taken in the Kherson region, which, as you can see, does not correspond to reality.
Note that similar narratives periodically appear in Russian media and are, so to speak, habitual. Thus, at the beginning of September this year, several pro-Kremlin media outlets claimed that an abandoned trailer with the bodies of Armed Forces of Ukraine servicemen was found on the highway between Kherson and Mykolaiv. As confirmation they even provided a video showing this find. We debunked this fake in our previous publications.
