The state enterprise “Research Farm “Pioneer” of the Institute of Climate-Oriented Agriculture of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine”, which is located in the village of Lyubymivka of the Novovorontsovka community, is in a state of termination.

The research farm has been in the process of termination since December 5, 2025.
The research farm “Pioneer” is subordinated to the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, which made the decision to terminate the enterprise’s activities as a result of reorganization.
The head and chairman of the liquidation commission is listed as the acting director of the research farm “Pioneer”, Serhiy Stepanov.
A few years ago MOST wrote that part of the land of “Pioneer” ended up under the control of business structures associated with Kherson’s mayor Ihor Kolykhaiev, who is currently in captivity, and his entourage.
In 2016, a contract was concluded between the enterprise and a private company, under which it gained access to thousands of hectares – under the guise of cooperation, not lease. This allowed using state land with tax benefits and minimal reporting.
After the start of the full-scale invasion, the territory of “Pioneer” became a front line. Part of the land was mined; however, after the de-occupation of the right bank, the enterprise began demining and even partially resumed operations.
According to MOST journalists, this may have been facilitated by the connections of the enterprise’s new director, Serhiy Stepanov. In particular, Stepanov’s relatives have joint business with the head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Vitaliy Kim.
