The 11th Separate Army Aviation Brigade “Kherson” of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been awarded the honorary distinction “For Courage and Bravery”.
The corresponding decree was signed by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
The 11th Separate Army Aviation Brigade “Kherson” is based in the village of Chornobaivka.
Currently the brigade is commanded by Colonel Ruslan Minakov.
From the first days of Russia’s occupation of Crimea, crews on Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters guarded the southern borders of Kherson region. From the beginning of the hostilities in Donbas, the servicemen carried out combat missions there.
The brigade’s fighters also took part in the battle for Snake Island and in the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counteroffensive in southern Ukraine.
