In Kyiv, Volgo-Donska Street was renamed in honor of the fallen liberator of Kherson, Pavlo Petrychenko.
The deputies adopted the relevant decision today, December 4, at a plenary session, the press service of the Kyiv City Council reports.
Pavlo Petrychenko was a public figure and one of the participants in the initiative «Who ordered Katya Handziuk?». Before the full-scale invasion he worked in the civil sector, and from the first weeks of the war joined Serhiy Prytula’s volunteer center.
In April 2022 Petrychenko joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and served in the 59th Brigade named after Yakov Handziuk, took part in the liberation of Kherson.
Also known as the author of a petition to restrict online casinos for servicemembers during martial law.
Pavlo Petrychenko was killed on April 15, 2024. He was buried at Askold’s Grave.
In May 2025 Pavlo was posthumously awarded the title Hero of Ukraine.
