Coach of the Kherson Children’s and Youth Sports School for chess and checkers Yuriy Nitsenko has been awarded the honorary title “Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine “.
This was reported by the Kherson Children’s and Youth Sports School for chess and checkers of the Kherson City Council.
The title was conferred based on results at the 100- and 64-square checkers world championships in 2025, where Yuriy Nitsenko won four silver and one bronze medal.
Yuriy Nitsenko is a graduate of the Kherson “Invasport” center. Last year he became a two-time world chess champion among athletes with disabilities.
