Three residents of the Kherson region have been notified in absentia of suspicion of collaborating with the occupying authorities. All of them worked at a correctional colony in Kherson before the full-scale invasion.
This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, the 35-year-old suspect — a former warrant officer of the internal service. In May 2022 he voluntarily switched to the enemy’s side and took the position of junior inspector of the 1st category of the supervision group of the security department of the institution IK “Northern Correctional Colony (No. 90)”.
His 45-year-old colleague — a senior inspector of the personnel department of the same colony. During the same period he also agreed to serve the occupiers and was appointed by them to the position of head of Assault Unit No. 1 of the Special Purpose Department of the Administration of the Penitentiary Service for the Kherson region.
The third suspect is a 40-year-old woman from Kherson. In May 2022 she assumed the position of head of the special accounting department of the Administration of the Penitentiary Service for the Kherson region.
All three cooperated with the occupation administration and facilitated the activities of illegally created law enforcement bodies by carrying out the functions assigned to them.
Recall that a 52-year-old resident of the left-bank part of the Kherson region, who voluntarily agreed to work in one of the occupation authorities, was also in absentia notified of suspicion.
