In Vinnytsia on November 26 they bid farewell to serviceman Viktor Olshansky, a native of Melitopol and a resident of Kakhovka in the Kherson region. He served with the 1st Donetsk Border Detachment and held the rank of captain.
This was reported by the Vinnytsia City Council.
Viktor Olshansky died on November 19 near the village of Chernyakiv in Chuhuiv district of Kharkiv region. He was 48 years old.
The serviceman served in combat areas in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions, and was awarded the “Defender of the Fatherland” medal, certificates and letters of appreciation.
Prior to his service he worked on the Tavrida oil production platform in the Sea of Azov, and later in Kakhovka, where he worked in the field of irrigation systems.
The farewell ceremony took place at the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral. The burial was held at the Alley of Glory of the Sabariv Cemetery.
