In Kherson, a court found Svitlana Seryohina guilty of cooperating with the Russians and participating in the organization of an illegal referendum in September 2022. The woman entered a plea agreement and received 3 years of imprisonment.
This is stated in the court’s verdict.
The investigation established that Seryohina voluntarily joined the conduct of the pseudo-referendum on the accession of Kherson Oblast to the Russian Federation. In the period from September 23 to 27, 2022, she went around the residents of the building and urged them to vote, kept lists of those who had already marked the ballot, and on September 25, together with representatives of the occupying authorities, installed a ballot box in the yard at 94 Komkova St. and invited people to vote.
The court approved the plea agreement. Seryohina received 3 years of imprisonment, and will also be unable to hold positions in state bodies or take part in electoral processes for 8 years.
Seryohina will be held in custody until the verdict comes into legal force.
