A 58-year-old resident of Novooleksandrivka in the Skadovskyi district has been notified in absentia of suspicion of collaborationist activity and justification of Russian aggression. After the occupation of the settlement, the man voluntarily went into cooperation with the enemy. He now faces up to 12 years of imprisonment.

According to the investigation, in August 2022, while staying in Novooleksiivka of the temporarily occupied Skadovskyi district, the man voluntarily headed a body controlled by the occupation administration. Namely – he became the head of the «Novooleksandrivske Territorial Administration of the Kalanchak Military-Civil Administration of Kherson Oblast».
Police also established that, while holding the position, the suspect, as part of organizing the work of the «administration» he headed, ensured the placement of Russian Federation servicemen into houses abandoned by local residents. The perpetrator also carried out and organized the processing of social payments in Russian rubles.
In addition, he took part in informational events aimed at supporting and popularizing the occupiers’ decisions regarding the implementation of the social and educational policy of the occupation authorities. In particular, it was established that in August 2022 the suspect publicly gave an interview to a Russian online media outlet. As experts determined, this video file contains signs of information aimed at supporting the aggressor state, its occupation administration, as well as justifying and recognizing as lawful the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
The suspect has now been notified in absentia of suspicion under parts 5 and 6 of Article 111-1 «Collaborationist activity» and part 1 of Article 436-2 «Justification, recognition as lawful, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants» of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. A supporter of the «Russian world» faces 12 years behind bars.
Recall, earlier a resident of the Novooleksandrivska community who helped organize an illegal referendum received suspicion of collaborationist activity. The man went door to door visiting local residents, checked their data against lists and handed out “ballots” for voting in the illegal referendum.
