The Kherson City Court handed down a sentence to a resident of Antonivka, Oleksandr Stovba, who took a job in the occupation administration of Kherson and helped the Russians carry out an illegal referendum.
This is stated in the court’s verdict.
According to the investigation, during the occupation of Kherson Stovba voluntarily collaborated with the occupiers. He became the so‑called head of the department of transport, communications, repair and road maintenance in the illegal military-civilian administration (MCA). In addition, he headed election precinct commission No. 301 at Kherson School No. 12.
One of the witnesses, who worked as a taxi driver during the occupation, said that an acquaintance introduced him to Stovba. During the meeting, the latter offered them “official work” — to transport people along a route during the holding of the pseudo-referendum for a reward of 40,000 rubles.
Another witness, a driver for the road administration, confirmed that he was sent to the referendum at School No. 12; there he saw Stovba, who gave instructions to drive members of the so-called election precinct around the city.
The court in absentia found Oleksandr Stovba guilty of collaborationist activities (Part 5 Article 111-1 and Part 2 Article 28, Part 5 Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment with confiscation of all property.
Earlier we wrote that the Kherson City Court handed down a sentence to the former director of Kherson School No. 30 Oksana Barnash. She was found guilty of collaborationism and aiding the aggressor state.
