Following public prosecution by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office, 46-year-old local resident Tamerlan Tsalykov was found guilty of collaborationism. The court sentenced him to eight years of imprisonment.
This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
It has been proven that in August 2023 the convicted person joined the “United Russia” party and took part in pseudo-elections to the illegal governing body — the “Kherson Regional Duma of the first convocation.” After the “election” results were announced he headed the illegal “Committee on National Policy, NGOs and Interregional Relations.”
In his position, the collaborator participated in drafting and adopting regulatory legal acts of the occupation administration and took part in work with the local population aimed at legitimizing the illegal authorities in the temporarily occupied territory.
In addition to imprisonment, the court deprived the convicted person of the right to hold positions in state authorities, public administration, local self-government and bodies that provide public services for a period of 15 years.
The sentence was delivered in absentia. The serving of the sentence will begin after the arrest of the convicted person.
Recall that the Kherson City Court in absentia sentenced 61-year-old Anatoliy Lebid to eight years’ imprisonment with confiscation of property. He was also found guilty of collaborationist activity. In September 2022 he organized for the Russian occupiers the so-called “referendum” in the villages of Zahorianivka and Skhidne of the Kherson district. In addition, he engaged in campaigning in favor of the enemy, and carried ballot boxes and ballots for voting accompanied by armed Russian military personnel.
