Investigators of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Kherson region announced a suspicion against a resident of the village Novooleksandrivka, Ivan Muzychuk. He is accused of voluntary cooperation with the occupying authorities.
This is stated on the website of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
According to the investigation, in the summer of 2022 Muzychuk voluntarily accepted the offer of the occupation administration and received the position of the so‑called head of the Novooleksandrivka territorial administration of the occupying Kalanchak Military‑Civilian Administration.
In this position he organized the activities of the occupation administration, housed Russian Federation servicemen in the homes of local residents who had left the temporarily occupied territory, organized the processing of social and other payments in Russian rubles under Russian legislation, etc.
He also appeared in propaganda videos. In one of the videos he said:
“In ’96 they switched our school to the Ukrainian language, now we hope that from September 1 we will be Russian again”, — the text of the suspicion says.
Ivan Muzychuk is suspected under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — part 5 of Article 111-1 and part 6 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaborationist activity) and part 1 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (justification, recognition of the lawfulness of the Russian Federation’s armed aggression against Ukraine).
The investigation is ongoing.
Note that according to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office, in Kherson region suspicions of collaborationist activity have already been issued to 1,275 people. Among the suspects are the so‑called “spotters” — people who remained in the deoccupied territories and pass information to the Russians about the locations of Ukrainian troops.
