Investigators of the SBU of Ukraine in the Chernivtsi region have announced suspicion against a resident of the Kherson region, Oleksandr Zolotovskyi, who worked for the occupation authorities, and later joined the ranks of the Russian army and is taking part in hostilities against Ukraine.
This is stated on the website of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
According to the investigation, before the full-scale invasion Zolotovskyi lived in the town of Hola Prystan in the Kherson region and in August 2023 signed a contract with the armed forces of the Russian Federation. He was assigned to the 126th Separate Guards Brigade of the Coast Guard of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
As part of this unit he took part in hostilities against the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the occupied part of the Kherson region. He also took part in a propaganda video that was recorded in March 2025, and confirmed that he is on the Kursk direction.
In the video address Zolotovskyi stated that he previously worked in the so-called Military-Civilian Administration in Hola Prystan.
In addition, according to Ukrainian law enforcement, back in August-September 2022 Zolotovskyi supported the occupation and recorded a video calling for holding an illegal referendum.

Zolotovskyi is suspected under three articles at once – part 7 of Art. 111-1 (voluntary participation in illegal armed formations of the aggressor state), part 1 of Art. 111-2 (aiding the aggressor state) and part 3 of Art. 436-2 (justifying the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine). He may face life imprisonment. The investigation is ongoing.
