Yurii Sribnyi, a native of the Kherson region, was killed in the war on November 11. He was 31 years old.
This was reported on the Vinnytsia City Council’s page.
Yurii was killed near the village of Mar’ivka in Synelnykove Raion of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
At the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, he and his wife returned home from Poland. Since then Yurii had served in the 59th Separate Assault Brigade of Unmanned Systems named after Yakov Handziuk; he was a UAV operator in the crew of unmanned aviation complexes on the Pokrovsk direction.
“His skill was recognized with brigade awards, including the breast badge “For destroying 250 enemy targets”, the article says.
Yurii Sribnyi was born on August 8, 1994, in the village of Shliakhove in Beryslav Raion. After finishing school he worked at local factories, and in 2019 he went to Europe with his wife. But, as his wife Vira notes, Yurii could not remain on the sidelines when the country was under threat. His daughter Nicole was born in Vinnytsia, where the family settled after returning from Poland.
