Russian Commissioner for Human Rights Tatyana Moskalkova reported that she allegedly «helped» suspend the criminal prosecution of a resident of the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region.
This was reported by pro-Russian media.
According to the occupation authorities, the man — head of one of the sports institutions — was accused of «embezzlement of funds». He appealed to Moskalkova, stating that the prosecution was unfounded.
The Russian ombudswoman claims that after «reviewing the materials» and interacting with the occupation «prosecutor’s office» and the investigative committee, a decision was made to terminate the case «due to the absence of elements of a crime».
Earlier we wrote that the occupation prosecutor’s office of Kherson region held the head of an illegal budgetary institution accountable for non-payment of wages.
