Ukrainian figure skater and native of Kherson, Kyrylo Marsak, won the silver medal at the Volvo Open Cup in Riga (Latvia).

On the first day of the competition, Marsak finished second in the free program – he scored 73.37 points, trailing the two-time champion, Estonian Arlet Levandi, by one and a half points.
On the second day of competition, Levandi increased his lead over the Ukrainian to 13 points. At the same time, Marsak managed to come ahead in the fight for silver of former Ukrainian Fedor Kulish, who has represented Latvia since 2023.
Kyrylo Marsak was born in Kherson. He competes in men’s singles. He is a three-time Ukrainian champion (2023-2025), a bronze medalist of the Ukrainian championships (2021).
Also Kyrylo Marsak – the Ukrainian junior champion (2021) and a participant in the European Championships (2023) and the World Championships (2023, 2025).
He became the first Ukrainian to land a quadruple Lutz (a jump in figure skating that has four rotations in the air, – bridge) at international competitions in the 21st century.
