Russian forces systematically shell hospitals and other medical facilities in Kherson and the region.
This was reported on the telethon by the head of the Kherson MVA, Oleksandr Shanko.
“They (Russian military) say there are some military facilities there, but this is deliberate terror against the civilian population”, — Shanko emphasized.
On October 29, Russian forces shelled a children’s hospital, resulting in nine people being wounded, including three children.
On October 30, another medical facility came under attack — an 83-year-old patient was wounded.
“Healthcare facilities are being systematically shelled. In the city and region there is not a single medical facility that has not been hit. Each one was struck dozens of times”, — Shanko noted.
According to him, Russian forces attack hospitals with all types of weapons — artillery, mortars, guided aerial bombs, drones and tanks.
Note that the October 29 shelling was responded to by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights of Ukraine, Dmytro Lubinets, calling the attack on the medical facility another war crime.
Also, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is confident that the strike on the hospital was deliberately carried out, and that the Russian military knew exactly where they were hitting.
