On the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region an illegal court sentenced a 34-year-old resident of Crimea. He was accused of participating in “illegal armed formation”.

The occupiers claim that since February 2016 he allegedly took part in the activities of the Noman Chelebidzhikhan Battalion, which is considered banned in Russia.
The Russian FSB states that the Crimean man “carried out the battalion’s tasks”, in particular on the administrative border with Crimea, and also “took part in actions directed against citizens of the Russian Federation”.
After the occupation of Kherson region the case against him was reportedly transferred to the so-called investigative bodies of Russia. By decision of the occupation court the man was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment in a maximum-security colony and was additionally given one year of restriction of liberty.
Recall, according to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion on the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region it was illegally detained 36 Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians, whom the Russians accused of participating in the battalion named after Chelebidzhikhan.
