Residents of the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions are appealing to the Russian authorities, reporting a catastrophic situation in agriculture. According to them, this year bees have almost completely disappeared — the population decline is about 80%.
This is reported by pseudo-oppositional pro-Russian media.
As a result, sunflower fields and other crops have been left unpollinated. Even where the plants survived the heat, the harvest is meager — from 100 to 500 kilograms per hectare. The seeds are empty inside, the article says.
Locals say that previously beekeepers placed hives near the fields, but now this is impossible: the industry has been virtually destroyed. Trees along the plantings are drying out en masse due to damaged root systems and logging — only dry trunks remain in their place.
Earlier we wrote that on the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region during the fire-hazard period more than 2.5 thousand hectares of forest burned.
