A Russian government commission approved a bill that provides for the extension of the so‑called “transition period” for integrating the occupied territories of Donbas and southern Ukraine into Russian systems of governance.
This was reported by pro‑Russian media.
As reported by Anastasia Milyutina, head of the office of the “Association of Lawyers of Russia,” the amendments extend the period during which issues of “incorporation” of the occupied territories of Ukraine into the economic, financial, and legal systems of the Russian Federation are to be resolved.
According to the document, the Kremlin plans to complete the full integration of the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions by March 1, 2028.
