In Kherson region juvenile prosecutors investigated over 1000 crimes against children during the nine months of 2025.

Among them, in particular, 213 — in connection with the deaths of 44 and the wounding of 249 children, 28 — due to the forcible deportation of minors, 24 — for cases of unlawful deprivation of liberty, and 7 — regarding militarization and propaganda among children in the occupied territories.
Three indictments for war crimes against children have already been sent to court. One of them is in relation to sexual violence committed by a Russian serviceman, another — for the occupiers’ creation of a so-called “Yunarmiya” cell in which Ukrainian children were involved in military propaganda.
In another criminal proceeding, five Russian servicemen have been notified of suspicion of killing civilians, among whom were three children; two others were wounded. The investigation is ongoing.
As a reminder, as of the end of May 2025 in Kherson Oblast, 42 children were killed by shelling, and another 217 – were wounded.
