Press officers of the GUNP and the patrol police did not confirm or deny the information about the fact of a Kherson police officer driving a car while intoxicated.
According to MOST, late yesterday evening Kherson patrol officers detained on Pokrysheva Street a driver who violated the curfew.
A colleague of ours was a witness to the stop and the subsequent conversations and actions, and she recorded the incident.
According to the patrol officers, they were escorting the driver from the cafe “Turtle”, which, as is no secret, operates even after the start of the curfew.
“There was a report that people were getting into a car there”, – the patrol officer explained to the driver.
During the conversation the patrol police officer saw that the driver was in a state of alcohol intoxication.
In response to this remark the driver showed some kind of ID.
“The driver identified himself as Maksym Viktorovych Savchenko. He called someone for a long time, nobody answered. Then the «support group», as the patrol officers called it, finally arrived. But it no longer helped, because the report had been drawn up. Maksym Viktorovych acted a bit aggressively, but the «support group» kept his mouth shut”, – our colleague said.
According to the witness, after the report was drawn up the participants of this event had an informal conversation, where Maksym Viktorovych was told in somewhat obscene words that «you must, first and foremost, be a human being».
After the fruitful conversation Maksym Viktorovych was taken away by colleagues, and a deputy chief arrived and was clarifying the circumstances.
In the end he said that the situation was unpleasant and left.
We found out that Maksym Savchenko works as an operative officer in the anti-fraud sector of the criminal police department of the Kherson District Police Department.
What further fate the report met, press officer of the Kherson Patrol Police Kostyantyn Kelbas could not say, citing personal data.
Andriy Kovany, who heads the regional GUNP press service, also could not say how the night incident with the intoxicated police officer ended.
